There is one undisputed king when it comes to Black Friday, and its name is Amazon. During last year’s Black Friday period, Amazon took a massive 26% share of the total retail industry in the UK. That is a staggering cut, and means that over a quarter of the UK’s Black Friday shopping took place on the online marketplace in 2018.
Amazon’s share actually increased by 3% on the previous year, showing that its Black Friday sales are continuing to grow. We can’t say for sure if this trend will continue, but we are certain that Black Friday is a massive event for Amazon, and the retail giant will celebrate it in an equally massive way this year.
Black Friday is such an integral part of Amazon’s retail policy that its preparations for it take place all year-round. Which means: massive savings and deals for you.
When is Amazon’s Black Friday 2019 date?
Black Friday falls on 29th November this year. Cyber Monday, the other major sales date during the Black Friday period, is on 2nd December. It isn’t a two day affair though, as Amazon’s Black Friday sales often run across a couple of weeks. We fully expect them to start around mid-November and end in early December.

An Amazon Prime membership comes with lots of perks. That’s a lot, and it only costs £7.99 a month. You can also sign up to a 30-day free trial if you need to test the waters. Students can get a free six-month trial and Amazon Prime Student memberships cost just £3.99 a month.
As well as Lightning Deals, Amazon run Deals of the Day throughout the Black Friday period. These are exactly what they sound like – special offers that expire after 24 hours.
