Happy Saturday! Have some new POND .

Perth’s favourite psychedelic weirdos have gifted us with a smouldering new jam dubbed ‘Sixteen Days’ and an appropriately bizarre 70’s-inspired performance-based music video with cable access TV vibes, complete with disco balls, low-lying fog, greased-up muscle men and crotch-thrusting aplenty.

“‘Sixteen Days’ is about, once upon a time, being jealous and paranoid, too ground down and mad to enjoy love and Genoa,” frontman Nicholas Allbrook explains in a press statement (via Consequence Of Sound).

Of the accompanying video, he adds: “Goulburn Valley Gold. Ruthless business. Fierce steals the show – World Champion (note – mirror ball helmet).”

Exactly.

The song arrives on the heels of the band’s 2018 comeback single, an eight-minute epic dubbed ‘Burnt Out Star’, and is apparently the latest track from a new LP, due out next autumn.

Watch it below, and catch POND live performing at Queensland’s Jungle Love Festival, Port Macquarie’s Festival Of the Sun and Berry’s Fairgrounds Festival before the year is out.
