Chelsea news: Sarri makes Hazard claim, Lampard to return, Jorginho explains Man City snub

Maurizio Sarri has backed Eden Hazard to score 40 goals this season following his opener against Liverpool.

“The match was beautiful,” he said.

“I am happy with the performance, I am disappointed they scored in the last few minutes but I feel the draw is the right result.

“Hazard can score 40 goals this season, I really think this.

“I believe Sarri’s arrival played a big part on it.”

Chelsea star Jorginho

“He is a great player and a great man.”

Frank Lampard is set to return to Stamford Bridge next month.

The Derby boss masterminded a Carabao Cup win at Manchester United on Tuesday, winning on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

The draw for the fourth round was made on Saturday evening.

And Derby were handed an away tie at Chelsea, the club where Lampard enjoyed a successful 13-year spell.

Jorginho has revealed why he chose to join the Blues over Manchester City during the summer.

“There are a lot of things behind a negotiation process,” he told ESPN.

“I believe Sarri’s arrival played a big part on it.

“And there’s also the greatness of Chelsea, such a big club. So these factors helped me make up my mind.

“[Sarri and I have] a pretty good relationship. He’s always bantering, joking with me.

“He didn’t call me, because he’s not the type to be phoning players, but of course, through agents, I knew what his wish was and what kind of work would be put in here.”

Chelsea return to action on Thursday as they host Videoton in the Europa League.
