Europa League Draw: When is the quarter-final draw? Who could Arsenal and Chelsea face?

The season is entering its closing stages now with the Europa League final on the horizon.

Arsenal and Chelsea progressed from the round of 32 by claiming victories over BATE Borisov and Malmo respectively.

The Gunners beat Ligue 1 side Rennes in a thrilling two-legged last-16 tie – coming from 3-1 down to win 4-3 on aggregate.

Chelsea, meanwhile, romped home against Dynamo Kiev 8-0 on aggregate.

Here, Starsport explain when the draw for the next round will take place and all you need to know about it.

Europa League Draw: When is the draw?

The quarter-final draw is set to be conducted on Friday, March 15 at midday (GMT) straight after the Champions League draw.

The semi-final draw will immediately follow.

Teams will be paired at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Europa League Draw: How do I watch the draw?

The draw will be televised live on BT Sport and available for subscribers.

Additionally, it will be available online for streaming via the BT Sport video player and app as well

Europa League Draw: When will the remaining ties take place?

The competition has entered the last-16 stage, with the first legs of these encounters set for March 7.

The second legs are scheduled for March 14, with the quarter and semi-final draw taking place a day later on March 15

This means teams will know their potential semi-final opponents despite not having kicked a ball in their original quarter-final.

The quarter-final themselves are scheduled for April, with the first legs taking place of the 11th and the return fixtures on the 18th.

The semi-final first legs are on May 2, and the second legs are on May 9.

Azerbaijan’s Olympic Stadium will then host the final on Wednesday, May 29.

Europa League Draw: If victorious, will Chelsea and Arsenal be seeded in the quarter-final draw?

There is no seeding or country protection in the next stage of the Europa League, meaning there are no restrictions on who clubs could draw.

Chelsea can theoretically play Arsenal in the quarter-final stage of the competition.

Meanwhile, the first club drawn out in each tie on March 15 will play the first leg of their two-legged tie at home.
