Man Utd news: Paul Pogba leading unhappy group AGAINST Jose Mourinho – Ferdinand

That is the opinion of legendary Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand.

It has been an eventful few weeks for Pogba who has gone from hero to villain almost on a weekly basis this season.

He showed his true brilliance with an exceptional performance against Young Boys in the Champions League, which included two goals and an assist.

But less than a week later, the World Cup winner lost the ball in midfield which allowed Wolves to equalise in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

It led to the £89m man criticising Mourinho’s tactics, subsequently leading to him being stripped of the vice-captaincy.

And, with the relationship continuing to deteriorate, the pair exchanged a frosty encounter in training which was picked up by Sky Sports cameras.

But Ferdinand does not believe he is the only one at the club not best pleased with the manager, and that the former Juventus ace is merely the ringleader of an unhappy cohort.

He said on BT Sport: “I think he’s doing it as a spokesperson for his team. I don’t think it is just him.

“I don’t think things like this should get out.

The things that we saw during the week on the cameras at the training ground, I don’t think that should happen. The manager knows the cameras are there.

“I don’t think Paul Pogba is on his own if he’s voicing these type of things. I think there’s a group behind him. I don’t think there’s just him.

“I think the manager, what he’s paid to do is be a manager and dictate to these players and make sure he rules from the top.”

BT presenter Jake Humphrey then asked Ferdinand to confirm what he meant.

“Are you saying Paul is maybe being a mouthpiece for other players in the squad as well?” Humphrey said.

“And therefore he’s getting the raff from Jose?”

Ferdinand replied: “I would lean towards that myself, yeah.”
